Two writers received the Abu Khaled Pathan Literary Award 2025 during Saturday's ceremony at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in Dhaka. Fiction writer Syed Kamrul Hasan and playwright Golam Shafiq each earned Tk25,000 plus commemorative items at the 5 p.m. event. The foundation presents this annual honor recognizing the late educator's cultural contributions to Kishoreganj district. Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam served as chief guest while writer Foysal Ahmed chaired the proceedings at Isfendiar Zahed Hasan Auditorium.
Writer Marzia Lipi moderated the program attended by novelist Ahmed Bashir and poet Upal Hasan among other literary figures. Musician Kafil Ahmed performed following the formal presentations. The award began last year when poet Kafil Ahmed and essayist Afroja Shoma became the first recipients of this literary recognition.
