Kano panel flies to Uromi to probe killings

Kano officials headed to Edo State on Thursday to look into recent killings at Uromi. Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo leads the team sent by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. The group includes the Emir of Rano plus several commissioners from religious affairs, local government, special duties, and women's affairs departments. They traveled after many people died during violent attacks that forced residents to flee their homes.

Deputy Governor Gwarzo spoke at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport before leaving. He promised they would find justice for the victims. The committee plans to meet with the Edo State Governor, security chiefs, traditional rulers, and community leaders throughout their week-long stay. Their mission aims not just to discover facts but also to build peace between different groups. They hope their work stops more violence from happening.

The Northern Governors Forum backs this effort as part of its plan to show support across regions. It wants to take action against the growing danger in various parts of Nigeria.
