Kasungu chiefs vow loyalty as Mutharika pressed on chieftain wrangles

Kasungu traditional authorities have committed to supporting Arthur Peter Mutharika following his presidential election victory. Senior Chief Lukwa confirmed that local chiefs will collaborate with the incoming Democratic Progressive Party administration. The traditional leaders emphasized their practice of working alongside whatever government holds power in the nation. Regional chiefs affirmed their recognition of Mutharika as the legitimate president.

Mzimba residents have requested the president-elect address ongoing leadership succession conflicts within their communities. Yotamu Jere from Emchakachakeni highlighted the prolonged absence of proper chieftaincy representation in the area. Community members expressed optimism that Mutharika will implement court decisions regarding rightful traditional leadership appointments. Both regions demonstrate high expectations for governmental intervention in local governance matters affecting rural populations.
