Folks can expect blackouts between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. People living in Nairobi, Machakos, Nakuru, Nandi, Kakamega, Tharaka Nithi, Nyeri, Kiambu, Kitui, and Kilifi need to be ready for these temporary outages. The electric company has different schedules for each area.
Many Nairobi neighborhoods will go dark from 9 AM to 5 PM. These spots include Highrise East, Magiwa, Highview East, some parts of Kenyatta Hospital, KMTC, and Mbagathi Hospital. Parts of Nairobi West Prison, Canaan East, and nearby homes will also have no power. More Nairobi areas affected during these same hours include Umoja 1 A, some of Tena East, and Umoja SDA Church.
