Kenya TIFA poll crowns UDA, ODM second, 31% partyless

A fresh Trends and Insights for Africa survey places the United Democratic Alliance at the top of Kenya's political preference rankings. The ruling party commands support from 16 percent of citizens surveyed. Orange Democratic Movement trails with 13 percent backing, while Democratic Congress Party attracts 9 percent of respondents. Azimio Coalition registers 5 percent support among participants. Wiper Democratic Movement captures 4 percent of voter preferences.

The study reveals a remarkable trend that overshadows party loyalty figures. Nearly one-third of Kenyans express no political allegiance whatsoever. This 31 percent represents the largest proportion of unaffiliated citizens since multiparty polling resumed during the 1990s. An additional 10 percent remain undecided about their political preferences. Research analysts note that parties aligned with the current administration collectively attract less than 30 percent of public support.
