A judge tossed out sexual assault accusations against music exec Kevin Liles after finding out the accuser had already gotten paid to drop similar claims back in the day. The woman claimed Liles assaulted her when he ran Def Jam in the early 2000s but apparently signed away her right to sue when Universal Music Group cut her a check for around 47k years ago.
The settlement paperwork from way back had language that basically covered any beef she might have had from working there and getting fired. The judge ruled that blocked her from coming back with the same story against Liles personally. The case got dismissed permanently and she cannot refile it. Liles denied everything from the jump and said he treats people right, especially women.
