Kinarut dorm beating injures boy, lawyer Nurshalilah demands justice

A secondary school student suffered physical assault from an older pupil at a Kinarut educational institution after arriving late to residential quarters. The September 7 evening attack prompted the victim's parent to file complaints with Papar District Police on September 9 and later with Kota Kinabalu authorities. A Form Four student delivered kicks to the abdomen, facial slaps, and nose punches that caused visible harm to the younger student. The same evening brought additional harassment when a Form Three pupil demanded that the victim perform laundry duties. Legal representative Nurshalilah Fauzan Mailin voiced concerns about informal resolution attempts between families rather than pursuing formal charges against the aggressors.
