External Affairs Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh opened the second Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Young Authors' Conference on Thursday in New Delhi. The event brings together 24 writers under age 40 from ten SCO member nations for two days of literary exchange. Digital age creative spaces form the central discussion theme for participants from China, Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Belarus. The Ministry of Education partnered with National Book Trust India to coordinate this cultural initiative.
Authors will examine how technology transforms literature while maintaining traditional cultural values across member states. The conference promotes cross-cultural dialogue among emerging voices in art, media and writing. Sessions feature distinguished scholars as chairs with expert discussants guiding conversations. This gathering follows the inaugural 2023 conference that focused on civilizational dialogue between SCO nations.
