Kofi Agyekum busted faking a chief role in Amanase

The Chief and Elders of Amanase issued a disclaimer stating that Mr. Kofi Addo Agyekum is not the Gyaasehene of Amanase and does not control the Gyaasehene Palace. They cited reports that he wears full regalia and shares flyers on social media that present him as the rightful officeholder. The flyers also advertise a funeral at the palace. A statement signed by Richmond Ntiako Breni, Secretary to the Amanase Traditional Authority, described these claims as false. The notice aims to prevent public confusion.

The release referenced an operation on April 23, 2023, when the Suhum District Police recovered fresh human remains and skeletons at the Amanase Palace. That action led to the destoolment of the then Gyaasehene, Nana Addo Agyekum, for alleged misconduct as caretaker and other charges from Nananom. The Chief stated that Mr. Kofi Addo Agyekum remains destooled and has not been enstooled as Chief of Homeso. He therefore holds no authority at the palace. The matter has been reported to the police, with copies sent to regional commands and media houses.
