Krafton kills another Striking Distance game after Callisto Protocol

Striking Distance Studios appears to have axed their upcoming Project Titan according to insider revelations surfacing online. A senior technical artist from the horror game developer posted on Reddit listing the mysterious title among cancelled projects. The employee had worked on character rigging and weapon setup for the doomed game before its apparent termination. Glen Schofield founded the studio under parent company Krafton after creating the legendary Dead Space franchise. Industry watchers had high expectations for the veteran team when they first announced their formation.

The Callisto Protocol launched as the studio's debut effort but crashed spectacularly among critics and players alike. Schofield publicly admitted the game suffered brutal development crunch periods that damaged team morale. Krafton allegedly refused to grant the developers an additional three to four months needed for proper completion. EA twisted the knife deeper by releasing their acclaimed Dead Space remake just weeks after Callisto's disappointing launch. The timing made Schofield's spiritual successor look even worse by direct comparison.

Multiple layoff rounds decimated the studio workforce following their commercial failure. Schofield abandoned ship less than twelve months after watching his passion project crumble. The remaining developers apparently continued working on Project Titan before executives pulled the plug. Gaming fans worry that Striking Distance Studios might face complete closure if their next venture fails similarly. The once-promising horror specialists have fallen far from their original ambitious goals.
