Krofrom traders tell Mahama, finish market or lose our votes

Traders at Krofrom Market pledged their political support for President John Dramani Mahama after his visit to their deteriorating marketplace on Wednesday. The women demand completion of the stalled construction project that began in 2007 before offering electoral backing. Mahama promised during his Ashanti Region tour that the facility would be completed by December 2026. The abandoned site has attracted criminal activity and wildlife over the past decade.

Vendors expressed renewed optimism following the presidential appearance at their workspace. They contrasted Mahama's physical presence with that of former President Akufo-Addo, who was absent from the location during his eight-year tenure. Current trading conditions feature leaking structures, overcrowding, and inadequate sanitation systems that hamper commercial activities. The market reconstruction represents part of a national infrastructure improvement program targeting commercial centers. The loyalty of these business operators to the political party depends entirely on the project's completion within the promised timeframe.
