Water bosses fixed broken pumps faster than expected and got taps flowing again across Kuantan. The Kobat Pump House finished all repairs by 9.30am and started pumping raw water to treatment plants less than an hour later. Workers filled up storage tanks and built pressure to get water moving through pipes to homes and businesses. Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad chief Datuk Saiful Zaini Mohd Bokhari said the team beat their original deadline by several hours. The company had warned residents about a 12-hour water cut that started at 11pm yesterday.
Different neighborhoods will get their water back at different times depending on where they live and how much pressure runs through local pipes. Water trucks and emergency tanks will keep delivering supplies to areas that still have dry taps until everything gets back to normal. The water company thanked customers for putting up with the disruption while crews worked around the clock to fix the problem. Saiful Zaini praised the National Water Services Commission for helping supervise the emergency repairs. Raw water from the pumps heads to the Semambu Water Treatment Plant where workers clean it before sending it out to thousands of homes and offices.
