Zanu PF leaders in Harare just backed businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei for a spot on the ruling party's Central Committee. This powerful group runs things when Congress takes a break. They make sure everyone follows the rules set by Congress and implement all policies and decisions across Zimbabwe.
Tagwirei stands out as one of the biggest business players in Zimbabwe. He runs companies across energy, mining, transport, building projects, and farming. As founder and boss of Sakunda Holdings Group, he started with oil and gas before growing his business empire into many different areas that matter for Zimbabwe's economy.
Godwills Masimirembwa spoke yesterday about this news during a Harare Provincial meeting at party headquarters. He told everyone that current Central Committee members wanted Tagwirei brought in because he belongs to the Harare Metropolitan branch already. Masimirembwa praised him as a smart business thinker who plans really well.
The chairman described Tagwirei as someone who cannot be replaced when it comes to creating new wealth for the party. Every person at the meeting agreed with adding him to the Central Committee right away. They plan to send their recommendation to Dr. Obert Mpofu, who serves as party Secretary General, stating clearly that Harare Province wants Tagwirei on board.
Masimirembwa also mentioned that President Mnangagwa asked the province to hold separate meetings—one for money matters and another for politics. Andy Mhlanga, who helps with economic planning for Zanu PF Harare, pointed out that Tagwirei has given money to the party for years already. He believes the time feels right for Tagwirei to step up as a leader.
Emmanuel Mahachi runs the youth section of Zanu PF Harare. He supports the decision completely because Tagwirei always helps find resources when the party needs them. Mahachi said everyone feels happy knowing Tagwirei will guide the party forward. The group also welcomed Voyage Dambuza as the new Political boss for Harare province, replacing Kudakwashe Damson.
Masimirembwa ended by saying their meeting went smoothly despite calls for street protests from Blessed Geza, a former member who ran away from Zimbabwe. He stressed that the entire province fully supports President Mnangagwa's efforts to make Zimbabwe an upper-middle-income country by 2030.
