Buhera West MP Tafadzwa Mugwadi absolutely torched some wealthy dudes in Zanu PF who are throwing cash around to climb the party ladder, and he went directly after Paul Tungwarara, who advises President Emmerson Mnangagwa. The former information boss is beefing hard with Tungwarara over his attempt to get into the central committee through Manicaland province, which apparently violated party rules according to commissar Munyaradzi Machacha.
Mugwadi blasted the businessman on social media for flexing his riches to buy influence and sending goons after people who actually campaigned during elections when Tungwarara was nowhere to be found. He reminded the advisor that being close to the president does not make him the president and dismissed his threats to boot out members who oppose his power grab.
The whole mess reflects bigger tensions inside Zanu PF, where businessmen like Tungwarara and Kudakwashe Tagwirei are allegedly hijacking the party with dodgy money, which has Vice President Constantino Chiwenga heated since he sees himself as the rightful successor.
