The EFF is calling out Zanu PF for basically panic-shopping votes ahead of the Nkulumane by-election, with their candidate Elson Moyo saying the ruling party suddenly started drilling boreholes and handing out food packages after realizing they might lose. Moyo claims he already laid pipes that got local youth hired, and residents are backing him because he actually did stuff for the area before the campaign season hit. He told voters to grab whatever freebies come their way but warned against expecting handouts forever when people need real jobs instead.
The race has a crowded field with candidates from CCC, MDC-T, ZANC, Zapu, and a bunch of independents fighting for the seat. CCC brought their chief whip out to campaign for their guy, Mothusi Ndlovu, while Moyo promised to push for vulnerable groups and bring industry back to Bulawayo if he wins.
