Lawyer Kpebu denies ORAL committee members received government payment

Martin Kpebu said committee members who prepared the Operation Recover All Loot program received no government money for their work. The lawyer told TV3 that the five-person team created by President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, gathered information without accepting state funds.

The group decided against payment at their first meeting and worked without compensation. Kpebu said members, including Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Daniel Domelevo, Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, and Raymond Archer, agreed within one minute to volunteer their time.

The attorney rejected suggestions that the committee wasted public resources. He said the team bought its own water and took nothing from government accounts.

Kpebu appeared on the KeyPoints program on Saturday, Oct. 25. He called the president's decision to form the committee among his best choices because it helped citizens participate in accountability efforts.
