Little Girl Mowed Down by Truck Outside School

A truck killed a six-year-old girl Monday near Takoradi. The child attended Freeman Methodist Basic School and was crossing a road after classes ended. Western Transport Service owned the truck that struck her. Three other students were walking with the girl when the accident happened. Two older children crossed the road safely before the youngest girl tried to follow them.

The truck was traveling from Kwesimintsim toward Sawmill when it hit the child. Witnesses said the girl got caught under the vehicle and died right away. The road where the accident occurred is being fixed. Workers are doing construction there. The girl was a first-grade student.

The truck driver went to police after the crash. James Amissah works as the spare driver for the truck. He told reporters the driver tried to avoid hitting the girl. Amissah said the accident was not the driver's fault. He wants the city to paint zebra crossings near the school entrance.d by the World Bank. The Public Sector Reform for Results Project aims to make government services work better. The project gave computers and printers to help staff do their jobs. Whittal praised the work done but said more equipment was needed.

The commission has 188 district offices and 16 regional offices but only received 32 computers and 190 printers. Whittal asked for more computers and better internet connections. Staff need training to serve people better across all regions. The minister promised government support and said they would work together. She wants equal access to justice for everyone no matter where they live.
