Lupane herdboy blows boss’s US$1,600 on city feja feja

A twenty-year-old cattle herder from Lupane district appeared before Magistrate Itai Kagwere this Tuesday on theft charges. Anele Sibanda had worked for employer Rozilina Ndlovu when he committed the crime on September 4. The defendant monitored his boss during a visitor's arrival at her rural homestead. He seized the opportunity when Ndlovu stepped outside with her guest.

Sibanda entered the unguarded bedroom and removed US$1,600 from a wardrobe. The young man immediately departed for Bulawayo city with his stolen funds. He proceeded directly to gambling establishments upon his arrival. Street card games consumed US$1,000 of the theft proceeds within a short period.
