MACC Officers Face BMI Limits for Promotions Starting 2026

Malaysia's top corruption fighter just announced a strict new rule for his staff. Azam Baki told reporters that overweight officers cannot climb the career ladder starting next year. The anti-corruption chief wants his team to stay healthy and look professional. Heavy workers might struggle with their duties and face serious health risks. Government employees need to stay fit to serve the public properly.

The new policy kicks off in January 2026 for all Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission workers. Azam plans to send out official papers about this change next week. His officers will have six months to shed extra pounds and meet the fitness standards. Anyone with real medical problems gets a pass from the weight rules. The police force already uses similar body requirements for career advancement.

The corruption agency set a top body mass index score of 27 for all staff members. Officers must visit government hospitals every three months for health checks. State directors have already started pushing these medical visits across the country. Workers with health troubles need to find treatment and change how they live. The agency wants everyone ready to chase down corrupt officials and handle tough cases.
