Maignan down after head clash in Milan game

AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan left the field on a stretcher after a scary head clash with teammate Alex Jimenez during Friday's match against Udinese. The accident happened 55 minutes into the game when Maignan rushed out to clear a dangerous ball but crashed into his defender instead.

Both players fell hard. Maignan appeared to black out briefly. The referee stopped play right away, even though Udinese had a clear shot at an empty net. Medical staff placed the French goalkeeper in a recovery position before carrying him off. Milan officials confirmed he remained conscious when leaving the pitch. Reports later revealed he went straight to the hospital for medical checks.

Jimenez stayed on the field but looked confused. He continued playing for fifteen more minutes before coming off. Many wondered why he wasn't substituted immediately after such a serious collision. His teammate Fikayo Tomori noticed something wrong first, signaling to the bench that Jimenez needed to come off. The defender finally walked off, looking dazed.
