Zimbabwe secured eight new international aviation agreements during a recent global negotiation event. The country's delegation, led by Transport Permanent Secretary Joy Makumbe, signed memoranda of understanding with Argentina, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Malaysia, and Ghana. It also finalized Bilateral Air Service Agreements with Ethiopia and The Gambia.
This paves the way for expanded airline cooperation, including potential code-sharing arrangements that would improve connectivity for passengers and cargo. The government additionally held talks with South African and Egyptian officials to resolve operational challenges faced by carriers. This aviation expansion supports a national strategy to enhance trade, tourism, and investment through improved air links.
