Malaba promises Gwanda justice from a court that has no roof

Chief Justice Luke Malaba visited the Gwanda Court Complex construction site on Friday to assess development progress. The project represents a major infrastructure initiative for Matabeleland South Province under the Second Republic administration. Engineer Sijabuliso Ncube from Public Works reported that builders have achieved sixty percent completion with the structure reaching roofing stage. Workers await additional funding to continue with roof installation after processing necessary quotations. The facility should reach completion by year end according to current projections.

Chinese construction firm Hua Long manages the building project for the government. The complex will accommodate magistrate courts alongside detention facilities for Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service operations. National Prosecuting Authority offices will also occupy space within the new judicial facility. Justice Malaba emphasized how the development supports community access to legal services while advancing the national devolution program. The infrastructure investment aims to strengthen Zimbabwe's justice system and promote regional development throughout the country.
