Sister Hilaria Chombo says Catholic Sisters at school need to build hope for their communities. She spoke to students during a three-day workshop at Thondwe Pastoral Center. The event helped Sisters prepare for research before finishing their studies at Catholic University. They also learned about the Pilgrimage of Hope started last May by the late Pope Francis. These lessons encourage prayer and care for people who need help.
The African Sisters Education Collaborative runs workshops every year. These meetings remind Sisters about their future service and faith duties. Students come from many different religious groups across the area. Sister Regina Kazembe said the training taught valuable research methods. Sister Trinitus Malanga enjoyed sharing problems and answers with other students.
The teacher, Sister Elizabeth Nampuntha, taught students to stay brave during their school work. She believes this will help them spread hope to others. Sisters from six different religious orders attended the meeting. All study through the Higher Education for Sisters in Africa program.
