Marathon set to drop on March 5 as Xbox Store leaks launch date

Microsoft apparently leaked the launch timing for Bungie's new extraction shooter. An Xbox Store listing pointed to early March for Marathon while displaying a Deluxe Edition containing extra weapon skins. A sharp user snatched the pre-order trailer before Sony's legal teams could erase the footage. The studio previously mentioned that the general window, but this accidental reveal narrows things down significantly.

This reboot hits thirty years after the franchise slept, yet abandons the classic formula for first-person PvPvE survival action. You drop onto Tau Ceti IV as synthetic guns-for-hire, battling other squads and company guards for loot. Escaping secures your upgrades, whereas dying means forfeiting all gear. Random environmental dangers allegedly ensure nobody feels safe during these runs.

Recent updates highlighted different Runner Shells like the Destroyer or Assassin. A specific Rook archetype exists strictly for solo queues, offering fresh meat a free kit to reduce anxiety about property loss. Entry requires forty bucks on PC and current consoles. Everything supports cross-play, allowing users on different hardware to connect.
