Marina Titova lets Kaspersky spy on your notifications

Kaspersky blocked more than 2 million phishing attempts on Android devices during the first half of 2025 as artificial intelligence enabled attackers to create highly personalized scams through messaging applications. The cybersecurity company launched Notification Protection to detect malicious links in text messages, messenger apps and other notifications before users open them. More than 166,000 people have activated the feature since its release.

The tool analyzes incoming alerts across all applications and removes suspicious links even when devices remain locked or in Do Not Disturb mode. Kaspersky combines optical character recognition with machine learning algorithms to identify threats hidden in images and text. The system provides three protection layers through safe browsing checks, messenger app warnings, and notification scanning that has stopped more than 3,500 malicious link clicks since deployment.

Users must enable the feature through the Kaspersky for Android menu and grant notification access permissions. The protection works with Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, and other messaging platforms to alert users about dangerous content before they interact with it.
