Masihur Rahman salutes Bangladeshi peacekeepers at NSU

North South University hosted a peace seminar on September 21, 2025, marking International Day of Peace. The event examined Bangladesh's contributions to United Nations peacekeeping missions worldwide. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury chaired the session at Syndicate Hall. Major General Hussain Muhammad Masihur Rahman delivered the keynote address about global harmony challenges. Security Adviser Maj Gen (Retd) Fazle Elahi Akbar attended as special guest.

The commandant emphasized Bangladesh's peacekeeping legacy while highlighting modern threats to world stability. He advocated for education as the foundation of lasting peace among nations. Panel discussions featured military officers, police officials, and academic experts. Speakers addressed evolving peacekeeping demands from terrorism, climate conflicts, and digital warfare. They stressed the need for specialized training and technological adaptation.

The forum concluded with calls for establishing a National Security Council. Leaders emphasized balancing soft power with defense capabilities for national interests. Participants agreed that individual actions contribute to societal peace and harmony.
