Melbourne Instruments reshapes its Nina synth with groovebox update

Melbourne Instruments releases firmware version 2.1 for the Nina desktop synthesizer, transforming the device into a comprehensive groovebox. The software upgrade introduces four independent polyphonic tracks capable of handling up to 64 steps each with variable lengths. Musicians can lock front panel parameters per step while motorized controls provide visual feedback during automation playback. The sequencer supports up to 12 voices distributed across all four tracks for complex polyphonic arrangements. Sixty-four additional noise types expand sonic possibilities with percussive elements, metallic textures, and digital percussion sounds.

The update enables standalone music creation without external equipment requirements. Users access shuffle functions, micro-timing adjustments, clock multiplication, and probability settings for dynamic pattern generation. Pattern chaining allows musicians to recall and sequence up to 16 different arrangements during performances. Internal storage accommodates over 4000 patterns for extensive creative projects. Melbourne Instruments provides this comprehensive firmware enhancement at no cost to current Nina owners through direct download.
