Michael Magz was detained in Harare after refusing to pay the InDrive fare

Zimbabwean musician Michael Magz faced detention after refusing payment for transportation services in Harare. The artist and two companions allegedly withheld fare from an InDrive operator following completion of their journey. Authorities report the group seized vehicle keys from the driver while demanding monetary change. The confrontation escalated when Magz told the operator to file complaints through official channels.

Police arrested the trio after the driver submitted a formal complaint. The suspects remained in custody for three days before their Thursday court appearance. Family members intervened by offering apologies and requesting forgiveness from the affected driver. The case was subsequently withdrawn following these reconciliation efforts.

Social media users expressed criticism after DJ Ollah 7 publicized the incident on Facebook. Many commenters condemned what they perceived as celebrity entitlement and misuse of public recognition. The responses highlighted broader concerns about prominent figures exploiting their status to avoid financial obligations.
