Liu worked at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company for more than thirty years. He climbed through many jobs there - senior vice president from 2004 to 2012, then co-chief operations officer until 2013. He became president and co-CEO from 2013 to 2018 and finally executive chairman until 2024. During his time leading, TSMC grew into the biggest semiconductor foundry anywhere. These days, he runs J&M Copper Beech Ventures as founder and chairman. The company manages various investment strategies.
His career began at Intel Corporation, where he helped create 32-bit microprocessor technology. Later, he joined AT&T Bell Laboratory and researched cutting-edge electronics. Liu also serves on the Engineering Advisory Board at the University of California, Berkeley. His education includes an electrical engineering bachelor's degree from National Taiwan University plus master's and Ph.D. degrees from Berkeley. He studied electrical engineering and computer science during his graduate years.

Christie Simons works as a senior audit and assurance partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP. She retires this May after almost thirty years of helping technology clients around the world. She filled several important leadership roles at Deloitte and led teams solving tough client problems like global stock offerings and company-wide digital changes. Simons recently headed Deloitte's Global Semiconductor Center of Excellence, which brings together different services for semiconductor clients across consulting, advisory, tax, and assurance.
She also recently led Deloitte's audit and assurance practice for the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications industries across America. Simons earned her bachelor's degree studying international business and finance at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado, Boulder. She holds certification as a Public Accountant in California and belongs to the American Institute of CPAs.
"Christie knows global technology and finance deeply, which helps us improve Micron's business for innovation and growth," Mehrotra explained. "Her specific semiconductor industry experience adds great value as our board shapes Micron's strategy for future opportunities."
