India presented extensive investment opportunities to Singapore-based businesses on Saturday as Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal addressed a partnership session in Singapore. Goyal met with Gan Siow Huang, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry, and emphasized strengthening bilateral economic ties for a more balanced partnership. The minister urged attendees to recognize India's economic development scale, and he discussed fast-tracking initiatives from the India-Singapore Business Roundtable. Goyal also met with Sembcorp executives to explore cooperation in renewable energy, green hydrogen, industrial parks, and skill development.
The three-day visit highlighted India's investment-led reforms and opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure, financial services, and the green economy. Goyal participated in a Business Roundtable on Foreign Direct Investment attended by representatives from AmCham, EuroCham, and the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. He previously met with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Friday to discuss trade linkages, innovation cooperation, and opportunities for sustainable development.
