Modi auctions off Northeast swag to save the Ganga

Northeast Indian states contribute significantly to the Prime Minister's Mementos e-Auction 2025 through diverse cultural artifacts. The online platform pmmementos.gov.in features 1,300 special gifts presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi from various regions. Proceeds from this auction support the Namami Gange Project for river conservation efforts. The bidding period continues through October 2.

Nagaland presents a carved wooden Mithun sculpture and handloom Naga shawl representing traditional wealth symbols. Meghalaya offers an intricate bamboo ship model demonstrating regional craftsmanship techniques. Assam contributes multiple items such as a Muga silk Angavastra, Garuda wall mask from Majuli island, and traditional Japi headwear. Sikkim provides a brass Buddha sculpture while Arunachal Pradesh features Wancho tribal wooden couple artwork.
