Modi opens Rs 1200 crore projects at Kangla Fort, says Viksit Manipur key

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched seventeen development projects valued at twelve hundred crore rupees during his Saturday visit to Manipur's capital. The ceremony took place at the historic Kangla Fort where Modi emphasized the connection between national progress and regional advancement. He addressed recent violence as unfortunate given the state's traditions of fighting injustice and called for unified efforts toward prosperity.

The infrastructure initiatives feature a new Civil Secretariat at Mantripukhri and state representative buildings in Delhi and Kolkata costing two hundred six crore rupees combined. Modi inaugurated four women-operated markets at Tengnoupal, Noney, Pallel and Moirang to support female entrepreneurs across the region. Additional projects encompass river development, bridge construction and educational facilities designed to address flooding challenges and connectivity issues.

Modi highlighted recent tax reforms effective September twenty-second that reduce costs for cement, construction materials and hotel accommodations. The Prime Minister recognized Manipur's sporting achievements and cultural contributions while referencing the Indian National Army's historical significance at Moirang. He concluded by traveling to Guwahati for Bhupen Hazarika's birth centenary celebrations.
