Mofokeng nears Royale Union move from Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates just locked in a European move for one of their brightest stars. The club confirmed winger Relebohile Mofokeng, only 21, is closing in on a switch to Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise after both clubs settled on transfer terms, with a medical and personal contract talks still left to wrap things up.

Turns out everything got locked in long before the World Cup started, but both sides sat on the news deliberately. Pirates wanted their winger zeroed in on the Bafana Bafana run without any transfer buzz stealing headlines throughout the competition.

A fresh statement laid out that money terms and deal structure already got hammered out, though nothing turns official until he clears a medical and locks down his side of the contract. Pirates say they will hold off on further comment until every piece falls into place.

This caps a breakout year for the winger, who turned heads with his flair, speed, and creative spark, while also cementing his spot in the national squad. Another South African talent is about to test himself in Europe.
