The government has reassigned Md Mokhlesur Rahman from his position as Senior Secretary within the Ministry of Public Administration. Rahman will assume duties as a member of the Planning Commission under the new appointment. Deputy Secretary Mohammad Rafiqul Haque signed the official transfer order on Sunday. The ministry stated that this decision serves the public interest and becomes effective immediately. Rahman belongs to the 1982 batch of the BCS Administration cadre.
The administration selected Rahman as secretary during August 2024 after the previous government collapsed during the July mass uprising. His contract originally extended for two years when officials first appointed him to the role. The transfer occurs merely 13 months after Rahman began his secretarial duties. Government officials have not disclosed specific reasons for this administrative change within the public service structure.
