MoPS teams up with 2M Corp to prep civil service pensioner verification

Nothing screams government efficiency like a fresh round of employee verification. The Gambia Ministry of Public Service is teaming up with a company called 2M Corp for a massive civil servant and pensioner check. Officials held a working session at Ocean Bay Hotel in Bakau to lay out the plan for stakeholders.

Accountant General Agnes Macaulay stated her office has experience from past exercises with the Prime Minister's Office. She promised this effort would avoid previous pitfalls like wrongful salary stoppages. Macaulay emphasized the need for accuracy to prevent duplicate work in future phases.

Director of Reforms Alhagie Jallow said the meeting aimed to secure cooperation for the national HRMIS project. 2M Corp CEO Dr. Yaya Saidou Jallow demonstrated the verification tools and procedures for in-person checks. He positioned the exercise as a core part of broader public service reforms.

The goal is to strengthen payroll integrity and human resource planning across government. Permanent Secretary Lamin F. Jawara from the PMO attended the session along with other senior officials. Similar engagement events are planned for the security sector in the coming period.
