Moyo calls for peace as protests fall flat

Archbishop Rocky Moyo, who leads the Council of Churches in Africa, asks everyone to stay peaceful. He wants church leaders from all groups to talk about peace with their members. He made these comments after people ignored protests called for on March 31. A former Zanu-PF member named Blessed Geza had tried to start these protests.

The Archbishop felt happy nobody joined the protests. He said churches hate it when people destroy things or hurt each other. Zimbabweans chose to keep things calm throughout the country instead of causing trouble. The Archbishop spoke about this during a special church event where new pastors became bishops at Upper Room Shekinah Ministries International.

Moyo believes churches must never back anyone who plans protests against the government. He believes God picks our leaders. Protests come from people who feel hopeless. They never fix problems but can wreck property and kill people. All churches should tell members to skip any protest calls. When citizens stay peaceful, they set good examples for others.

Moyo thanked regular people for making smart choices by avoiding recent protest calls. He said talking works better than protesting. When people sit down together, they can fix issues without fighting. Every citizen should help build the nation and back the current government. Moyo praised the church ceremony for planning who would lead next.

Many churches split apart after their founders die because nobody knows who should take charge next. The newly ordained bishops already know their future roles, which stops arguments later. President Mnangagwa agrees that churches help build the nation. He wants citizens to value God's word. Religious unity creates economic growth across Zimbabwe.
