Uganda's President Museveni wants everyone to understand something important. He said Uganda's army is not fighting the M23 rebels in Congo. Instead, his soldiers were there to stop a different group called ADF, which had hurt people in both Uganda and Congo.
The president explained that Congo's leader, Mr. Tshisekedi, asked Uganda for help about four years ago. This made many people happy because the ADF had been causing trouble for more than 20 years. Thanks to Uganda's help, people in Congo could return to their villages, and Ugandans became safer.
Uganda sent more soldiers to Bunia in Congo. Many rebel groups want to control this area because it has valuable minerals underground. The biggest rebel group is M23, which recently captured a big city called Goma. They even said they wanted to take over Congo's capital city, Kinshasa, which is very far away.
The Uganda army had another job as part of the East African Force. They helped keep the peace between M23 fighters and Congo's army by staying between them on the road. But Congo told the East African Force to leave because they thought these soldiers weren't helping enough against M23.
