Mushayavanhu ruled out forced forex conversion in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's central bank governor is basically telling everyone to chill because nobody's getting their forex balances forcibly converted. RBZ head John Mushayavanhu made it clear that the shift to a single-currency setup won't involve liquidating anyone's FCA holdings, and existing contracts stay honored in whatever currency they were originally written in.

The whole transition only kicks off once the Conditions Precedent in NDS2 are actually met, and there's no hardcoded deadline attached. The real trigger is when people genuinely stop caring whether they get paid in ZiG versus American dollars. The only practical shift is that domestic purchases would require converting greenbacks into ZiG via a bank or currency exchange counter first.

Mushayavanhu basically threw his hands up and asked what everyone is even confused about, which is a pretty fair question given how straightforward the actual policy sounds on paper.
