Local Government Minister Daniel Garwe reported that water and sewer systems will complete by September while the training school opens September 1. The nurses' accommodation finishes in October and the maternity wing concludes by December 2025. These improvements align with national goals for upper-middle-income status.
Ministers then toured the Angel of Hope Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Mbare established by First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa. The facility opened July 12 and serves 200 individuals through medical treatment and counseling at no cost. Health Minister Douglas Mombeshora praised the partnership supporting Zimbabwe's anti-drug strategy from 2024 to 2030. Dr Muswere emphasized collective responsibility for fighting substance abuse affecting economic growth. The center offers hope for recovery and restored dignity across communities.
