Mwanamvekha warns CDF cash mess could cost Malawi donors

Politicians are freaking out because free money might disappear if they keep acting shady. Joseph Mwanamvekha warned everyone during a meeting in Mzuzu that donors will pull the plug on the Constituency Development Fund if transparency remains trash. The finance minister stressed that accountability is non-negotiable since the cash belongs to the public. He hinted that outside backers watch the books closely.

Blantyre City Mayor Isaac Jomo Osman chimed in to claim that local officials actually get along fine despite the rumors. He insisted that Members of Parliament and council representatives have zero beef over the cash distribution. He did admit that a massive pay gap exists between the two groups, though.

Mwanamvekha pointed out that most public colleges remain broke except for the Malawi University of Science and Technology. He argued that wealthy parents exploit subsidies meant for poor students instead of paying full price. The official wants the system fixed to ensure funds actually help kids who need financial support.

That same problem plagues the health sector, where rich patients use free services despite having medical insurance. President Peter Mutharika is apparently slashing spending everywhere to tackle the national debt, which currently sits at twenty-two trillion kwacha. The goal involves tightening the belt before the economy completely tanks.
