A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin visited a quality fuel plant and a coal-fired power plant in Huzhou, China. At the fuel facility, they observed storage tank construction, safety and environmental measures, fuel upgrading to RON 92, 95, and 98, digital production controls, lab testing, and logistics monitoring from raw material intake to product distribution.
The minister spoke with the company’s chairman about digital systems, lab improvements, sending Myanmar staff to Chinese factories, upgrading Myanmar’s RON 68 fuel, and offering occupational training. The company plans to send a team soon to Myanmar’s oil refinery for a feasibility study and talks on cooperation.
The delegation then toured the coal-fired power plant and reviewed coal quality assurance, supply continuity, and Clean Coal Technology to reduce environmental impact. The minister noted Myanmar’s coal reserves and said coal-based power could lower electricity costs. He affirmed Myanmar’s commitment to global climate goals, invited Chinese investment, and expressed interest in technology transfer and workforce training.
