Government officials made a special trip to Hinthada Township yesterday morning for community visits. Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn teamed up with Regional Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win to check out local development projects. The pair wanted to see how villages are building stronger communities across the area. Their first stop took them to U Po Kyar Library where students were reading books. The officials talked with young people and met library workers who keep the place running.
The Union Minister told everyone that Myanmar's leader wants more libraries built nationwide. He said these reading centers help kids develop good study habits for their futures. The regional boss mentioned that Ayeyawady Region already has over 340 libraries serving local families. Government leaders brought cash donations worth 2 million kyats to help the library grow. They also delivered stacks of educational books and science materials donated by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife.
Television equipment arrived at the same time as the book donations. MRTV officials gave the library three satellite receiver sets for better broadcasting. The officials moved on to Kayinsu village where farmers received free rice seeds and planting machines. Each village got new satellite TV receivers to improve their communication systems. Workers demonstrated how kenaf plants make soil better for growing rice during monsoon season.
The day ended with emergency training exercises at Phaungseik village. Fire department crews showed villagers how to rescue people from flood waters. Irrigation experts taught families about preventing flood damage to their homes. Officials handed out warning flags that help people prepare for dangerous weather. They also distributed 200 television boxes to improve local broadcasting services throughout the township.
