NDC's Eagle Eye body cams stopped NPP rigging plan, says minister

Defence Minister Omane Boamah declared that the New Patriotic Party attempted to manipulate the 2024 general elections through organized fraud schemes. The minister stated that the National Democratic Congress prevented these alleged plans using a surveillance program called Eagle Eye. Body cameras and increased monitoring disrupted the supposed rigging efforts according to Boamah's claims. He provided no supporting evidence for these serious allegations against the opposition party.

Political observers questioned the timing of these accusations following the NPP's recent National Delegates Conference in Accra. The event marked the beginning of the party's internal restructuring process ahead of the 2028 electoral cycle. Some analysts suggested that Boamah's statements might serve as a distraction from the NPP's current rebranding initiatives. The Defence Minister used social media to announce his allegations about the failed electoral manipulation strategies.
