Zimbabwe's ICT Minister Tatenda Mavetera says the country's first National Development Strategy helped push through a bunch of tech sector upgrades. The framework, which ran until 2025, set up policies and reforms aimed at hitting middle-income status by 2030. She talked about this at a World Post Day event in Nyamandlovu.
Mavetera pointed out that NDS1 beefed up internet infrastructure, got e-government stuff moving, and built out Digital Centers across the country. The newly launched NDS2 picks up where that left off, focusing on postal service upgrades, better cybersecurity, and getting more people online.
Those Digital Centers aren't just mail spots anymore. They've been retooled as training hubs where people can learn coding, get into AI, and develop business skills, which the minister says is key to reaching Vision 2030 goals.
