Lukas Nelson dropped two tracks to beef up his American Romance album that already scored a Grammy nomination for best traditional country album. The singles A Certain Someone and The Last Wild River hit streaming platforms as bonus content for the 12-song project that critics loved when it came out earlier this year.
A Certain Someone starts stripped down with just Nelson and an acoustic guitar before piano slides in, and the lyrics deal with learning to accept yourself while waiting for the right person to show up. The Last Wild River brings fuller band energy with multiple guitar solos and a faster tempo that turns it into more of a jam track compared to the mellower first single.
Both songs could end up on a deluxe edition if Nelson decides to expand the album down the road, and they fit right in with the vibe he already established on the original release.
