NIS America admits last year's Ys X was the inferior beta version

NIS America revealed plans to bring Ys X: Proud Nordics to international markets during early 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC platforms. The company describes this release as the definitive edition of Ys X: Nordics, which arrived outside Japan last October. Japanese players received exclusive access to the Nintendo Switch 2 version on July 31, 2025. The announcement follows the earlier release of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana this year. This enhanced edition promises improved visual performance alongside quality of life enhancements.

The adventure centers on protagonist Adol partnering with Norman Karja to combat the immortal Griegr threat. Players must assemble a team of adventurers to eliminate this menace and protect the Obelia Gulf region. Francesco De Meo praised the original version as a solid action RPG that advances the longtime franchise. The definitive edition adds previously unavailable mechanics and content to expand the gameplay experience. Enhanced graphics and system improvements round out the package for international audiences.
