Nishad fumes as UP bans caste rallies, warns of silenced voices

Sanjay Nishad challenges the Uttar Pradesh administration's recent prohibition on caste-oriented gatherings and related documentation references. The Nishad Party leader and state Fisheries Minister declares his intention to petition authorities for policy reversal. The government implemented these restrictions following an Allahabad High Court directive aimed at promoting social harmony.

Nishad acknowledges court authority while expressing concern about suppressing marginalized communities' democratic participation. He argues that historically oppressed groups require collective organization to secure constitutional rights and government benefits. The minister questions how caste-based reservations and certifications will function under complete identity removal from official records.

The Social Justice Committee's research reveals unequal benefit distribution among Other Backward Classes subgroups. Nishad emphasizes that community mobilization remains essential for accessing employment opportunities and social justice. He commits to addressing these concerns through formal correspondence and high-level government discussions regarding policy modification.
