Nketiah gets secret texts after wrecking Liverpool

Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah received appreciation messages from Arsenal personnel after scoring the decisive goal against Liverpool on Saturday. The former Gunners forward netted seven minutes into stoppage time to secure a 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park. Arsenal staff contacted Nketiah following the match that handed Liverpool their first defeat of the season. The result reduced Liverpool's five-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table.

Ismaila Sarr opened the scoring for Palace after nine minutes before Federico Chiesa equalized for Liverpool in the 87th minute. Nketiah acknowledged receiving multiple thank you messages from his former club but emphasized his commitment to Palace. The striker transferred from Arsenal to Palace during 2024, and his match-winning performance could benefit his former team. Arsenal faces Newcastle United on Sunday in their next Premier League fixture.
