A hospital in Oshakati told their doctors and nurses they can't use their phones when they work. The person in charge, Mr Ruben Kanime, made this rule because he thinks phones make workers spend less time helping sick people.
Mr Kanime wants phones used only for very important things at the hospital. He said workers must not look at social media or make personal calls when they take care of patients. They also can't wear headphones near patients anymore.
A man named Johannes Nghilifavali went to another hospital and saw a nurse talking on her phone instead of helping him properly. When he asked her about it, she said she had her problems. He told people some nurses make videos for social media when they should be helping sick people.
Anyone who breaks these new rules can be punished. But one nurse said the rule isn't fair because nurses need phones to talk to doctors. She explained that phones help them learn about medicines and sicknesses. She said nurses only use phones at lunchtime or when they need to ask doctors something important.
Another nurse thinks differently. She believes it looks bad when nurses use phones around patients. She said maybe nurses need to change how they act at work. The person in charge of all hospitals, Mr Kalumbi Shangula, will talk about this problem soon at a big meeting.
