The National Roads Authority gathered stakeholders at its Bijilo headquarters on August 5, 2025, for consultation regarding Bertil Harding Highway Phase 3 preparations. Representatives from the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Gamtel, National Disaster Management Agency, Physical Planning, National Environment Agency, Gambia Police Force, NAWEC, and contractor Arezki attended the session. Acting Managing Director Sulayman Sumareh Janneh addressed significant encroachment issues in previously cleared areas that require immediate attention. Director of Human Resources Bai Bittaye emphasized collective responsibility among all participating organizations. Technical Director George Jatta raised concerns about persistent littering problems along OIC Highway sections at Turntable and Old Yundum.

Jadama referenced lessons learned from the demanding initial 22-kilometer clearance phase. Assistant Commissioner Musa Sanyang and NEA representative Lamin B.J. Samateh committed their agencies to supporting the upcoming operation. The clearance work will begin shortly to enable the construction commencement. Phase 3 development depends on successful right-of-way restoration efforts.
